Together, with intention, we pause.
We listen.

Spiritual Direction?
Spiritual Director?

Spiritual Direction is an intentional and sacred journey of mystery, exploration, discovery, naming, embracing, nurturing, and affirming, your intimacy with ALL that which is larger than you. That which is larger than you has many names and no name. For example: Ground of being, creative cosmos, Mother earth, Breath of life, God, Goddess, Source, Allah, Buddha, voice of truth, web weaver, light of the world, justice maker to name a few.

A spiritual director is an accountable and compassionate spiritual companion, and a sacred guide. A spiritual director shepherds your journey by listening, by noticing and by encouraging you on your journey. A spiritual director invites you to deepen your spiritual experiences in every aspect of your living and life.

FRUITS OF SPIRITUAL DIRECTION

Spiritual direction will invite your spirit to slow down, observe, notice, feel, hear, touch, breathe, and more

Spiritual direction will invite your soul to open boldly, sincerely, honestly, deeply, wholly, reverently

Spiritual direction will invite your entire being to investigate what you hold as “truths”, what you believe and what you value

Spirtual direction will ask you to explore forgiveness, mercy, hope, patience

Spiritual direction will invite you to consider meditation, prayer, singing, dancing, chanting, tree bathing, sound healing, and active imagination as spiritual practices

Spiritual direction will inspire you to be present to mystery, awe, wonder, serenity, peace, sorrow, joy, grief, love, peace and the myriad of emotions that accompany living, dying and death

The Process of Our Spiritual Partnership

Overview

We will meet in person or virtually for approximately 50 minutes once per month.

I encourage you to use the remaining 10 minutes of the hour after our formal session concludes to "be with" what was present for you. For example, you could use your 10 minutes to:

  • journal
  • draw
  • sing
  • meditate
  • pray

allowing your sense of that which is larger than you to continue to move within you and beyond you.

Inside the Session

During our session my primary responsibility is to serve as an instrument to that which is larger than you and to be present, to deeply listen and observe.

I may also bring your attention to your “soma”, your body, your physical gestures, facial expressions, as a way to amplify and clarify what your embodied self is saying.
